When you pledge, you post an amount on this thread. Then starting on the next day check Pet’s on Death Rows’ (PODR) photos and find the album entitled SAFE. If the cat has been saved PODR will post the link of the rescue and you can honor your pledge. Pledging is generous, simple and supports rescue.
Starting today, the NYC AC&C has changed the hours that the "To Be Destroyed" animals will be available for rescue/adoption. The list will be released at 6PM (not 5PM,) but you will have access to their website (to "reserve") until 12PM (NOON) the following day. Hopefully, the extra hours will give us an opportunity to save more lives. The shelter closes at 8PM but reopens at 8AM. You will be able to reserve animals on the PUBLIC site until 12 NOON. If the animal is rescue only, a rescue will be able to pull, up until 12 NOON. Please make note of the new hours and check back at 6PM for the list. Thanks!

The fee for a cat 7 months and older is waived with the adoption of a kitten.

Have you decided to rescue a cat on death row? The following is a list of rescues that might be able to assist. Remember, time is sensitive. They begin killing at 6am, the morning after these lists are posted. Placing applications with more than one group increases the chances of someone being able to see and respond quickly-- this improves your chances of being approved. When at all possible, please try to fill out applications and get approved to adopt or foster BEFORE the animal is on "the list" and it is at the 11th hour!
*CLICK links under an individual rescue name. This will bring you to their website. You can then find contact info, which at least includes an email, if not a phone. A LOT OF RESCUES HAVE APPLICATIONS RIGHT ON THEIR SITE.
*When writing them, be sure to indicate the animal id number, name and shelter location in the SUBJECT line. You must include all contact info for yourself, including email and phone. Explain to them that the animal is on the ACC euthanasia list for the next morning and that you would like to foster/adopt.
*Reminder, UDRC/PODR is NOT a New Hope Partner. We do not pull cats from the shelter and we can not tell rescues who or when to adopt to someone.
